The current general counsel at the largest ice cream brand in Greece, Christina Karakosta is a long-serving legal professional with Dodoni Ice Cream, having spent over 13 years at the company as a corporate lawyer. Karakosta’s main focus are legal challenges in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMGC) sector, including the tangled web of Greek and international competition law and M&A deals that are crucial to the company’s position as leaders in the Greek ice cream market.
The company, which has been in business since 1967, requires a large amount of legal protection stemming from its intellectual and industrial property – Karakosta is adept at advising on issues related to trademarks, inventions and industrial designs. During her time at the company, she has overseen the restructuring of the company’s legal department and has been at the forefront of the introduction of new working methods, evincing her commitment and capability to improve efficiency. Karakosta’s legal experience and business leadership has seen her be relied upon for her advice in the handling of many major cases regarding corporate, labour and commercial issues, as well as the negotiation of loans and franchise agreements.
Prior to her joining Dodoni, she was the general counsel of the Nikas Group of Companies, leading legal support dispensed to the processed meat products company between 2012 and 2013.
