During his first 20 years of practicing as a lawyer, Ioannis Voskos worked in in-house roles for a variety of multinational companies. Since June 2014 he has been serving Hellenic Petroleum, a distinguished business that holds a leading position in the Greek energy sector as well as in the greater Southeast European area. In the capacity of commercial support legal director for the Hellenic Petroleum Group of Companies, Voskos manages a team of lawyers and has oversight on the legal aspects of many important projects.

Voskos had a leading role in the merger of Eko Abee with Hellenic Fuels over 2015 and 2016 and shares the following regarding the deal: ‘It was a complex multitasked legal assignment which involved demanding project management of diversified stakeholders entrusted to meet on time with considerably detailed targets. The project had to address legal matters evolving from a range of activities of this significantly large structure of marketing companies related with the operation of 1,700 EKO and BP gas stations in Greece as well as the supply of oil and gas products to industrial, aviation, shipping, household and public customers’.

Before Hellenic Petroleum, Voskos’ first major role was as an internal lawyer at SAP for 20 years and worked on number of important strategic projects across Eastern Europe and the Middle East during his time there. ‘Being at the centre of business and technology evolution I was thrilled to work in Greece, Europe and the Middle East for a fast growing multinational in the IT sector which transformed and shaped today’s business’, he says of his time at SAP. He also had a notable stint working for the Constantinou Group of Companies, a global organisation dedicated to the construction and development of large multipurpose complexes and global commercial activities. Voskos’ practical experiences accrued over the years have equipped him with the skills, competencies and ability that make him a leading counsel in Greece.

In addition to his in-house legal role, he currently sits as a deputy coordinator of the legal committee of the Hellenic Petroleum Marketing Companies Association. After graduating from the University of Athens in 1992, Voskos obtained an LLM in international business and European community law from the University of Hull in 1993.
