Experienced aviation lawyer Katia Avramidou has been a driving force behind the legal department at Aegean Airlines, Greece’s flag carrier and largest airline, for the last 17 years. Currently serving as the company’s general legal counsel, Avramidou’s work is highly diverse, involving everything from overseeing day-to-day legal issues and affairs, to negotiating and concluding aircraft purchase, finance and lease transactions.

Over the years, Avramidou has particularly impressed with her involvement in high level aircraft and engine transactions, including aircraft financing deals and deals to purchase, lease, sale and lease-back aircrafts. Significant milestones in Avramidou’s tenure with the company include her work on Aegean Airlines’ IPO on the Athens Stock Exchange and the acquisition of competitor Olympic Air. She has overseen legal support for Olympic Air since the acquisition. In addition to her role at Aegean Airlines, Avramidou serves as a legal counsel at Hellenic Air Carriers’ Association and The Professional Golfers’ Association of Greece.
