A legal professional with extensive corporate and commercial transaction experience in a number of jurisdictions, in October 2017 Kirill Shein was recruited as managing director and group general counsel by Archicert Limited, the Cypriot holding entity of an international investments and holding group. Having subordinates spread between three countries means Shein has already developed strong communication lines with his team.

At a company-wide level he is developing regulations governing various workflows involving the legal department from negotiation to execution of different transactions to requesting documents from authorities. Prior to his current role, Shein enjoyed a six-year spell as general counsel of AIM Capital. During his time there between 2011 and 2017, he planned, structured and effected a large-scale reorganisation of the holding structure of the multi-billion dollar group, coordinating the process with governmental authorities, international lenders and other shareholders of the Group. He also negotiated a $2bn credit facility with a leading Russian bank as well a $90m transaction relating to the sale and purchase of real estate.

Shein has been based in Cyprus since 2008, moving from his native Russia to join the Cypriot operation of Donalink, the shareholder of a major Russian coal producer, as head of legal and corporate governance. Prior to that he was a project manager for one year providing legal support on M&As in Moscow at the leading Russian telecommunications company, COMSTAR. Before that he was a senior lawyer at Sistema Telecom between 2004 and 2007, his first in-house role. Prior to that he was legal associate at PwC in Moscow for two years. A high-functioning and gifted individual, Shein is able to speak four languages: Russian, English, French and Greek.
