Having served in senior legal positions at various large domestic and multinational financial services companies operating in Greece for well over a decade, Konstantinos Antonakis is extremely well-regarded within Greece’s in-house legal community. Today he is general counsel of Eurolife ERB, a prominent Greek insurance firm who recruited Antonakis in 2016.

Accruing his knowledge of the legal insurance sector in Greece via previous roles, Antonakis was formerly the general counsel at one of the oldest and largest insurance companies in Greece, International Life. He also has a background in financial institutions, holding roles including the head of legal affairs at Geniki Bank, general counsel of Millennium Bank, general counsel of BNP Paribas Greece and the head of the international affairs department at Hellenic Exchanges – Athens Stock Exchange. Prior to these high profile roles, Antonakis was based in Paris and worked as a legal adviser focused on securitisation projects and repackagings at BNP Paribas and an in-house lawyer at Deutsche Bank in Paris working on capital markets and banking law as well as debt capital markets transaction management.

Antonakis obtained an LLM in banking, corporate finance and securities law from University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne in 1995 and his law degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1991.
