Petros Hadjiantoniou serves as the director of legal and regulatory affairs for Cyta, a semi-governmental organisation established with the aim of providing, maintaining and developing a comprehensive telecommunications service, both nationally and internationally.

Leading the legal function of the leading provider of integrated electronic communications services in Cyprus has required Hadjiantoniou to remain on top of the company’s broad range of services and facilities as well as manage its corporate strategy and policy. Some of its most innovative and notable facilities include an extensive submarine fibre optic cable network linking Cyprus with neighbouring countries such as Greece, Israel, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt – a large scale task which has been facilitated in part by Hadjiantoniou’s legal ability and grasp of international law and regulatory nuances. Hadjiantoniou has helped Cyta navigate the changes to the social, legal and political environment brought on by Cyprus becoming a full member of the European Union.

Following the liberalisation of telecommunications in Cyprus, Cyta has been central to working through the challenge of the convergence of telecommunications, information technology and multimedia.
