Based in Athens, Coca-Cola HBC is a Forbes Global 2000 listed company that is a major anchor bottler used by the Coca-Cola Company, providing bottling services across a range of the company’s products that include some of the world’s best-known and loved brands.

Spyros Mello is Coca-Cola HBC’s chief compliance officer and deputy general counsel, and having worked for the company since 2005, he is able to draw on a wealth of experience within the organisation. As the world’s second-largest Coca-Cola anchor bottler in terms of volume and a large company operating not only in Greece but on a transnational basis, Mello is required to be adept in a number of different areas of the law, and is nominated in particular for his strength in corporate law and competition law amongst many others, also drawing praise for his ability to successfully manage teams of professionals and help define business strategy.

Mello can also point to a strong foundation to his in-house legal career, having achieved an outstanding academic track record including diplomas from Harvard Business School, Columbia Law School and the University of Cambridge. He was also an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell having spent over five years in private practice at the firm between 1999 and 2005 before making the move in-house.
