In June 2014, Ioannis Voskos joined HELLENiQ ENERGY Group of Companies, a distinguished business that holds a leading position in the Greek energy sector as well as in the greater Southeast European area.
Reporting to the managing director and general counsel of HELLENiQ, Ioannis manages a team of lawyers and supporting administrative personnel working in all areas of HELLENiQ’s retail in-house legal practice. This division supports all matters relating to the operation of oil and gas supply and trading of group refineries, EKO and BP gas stations retail, and provides legal support on the supply of oil and gas products to the industrial, aviation, shipping, household, and public customers sectors, through a vast network of industrial and commercial facilities.
Ioannis oversees energy, oil, and gas matters – including legislation and regulation covering the marketing of energy, oil, and gas products; commercial support; and contract management. He works with the internal commercial legal counsels’ team and co-ordinates a wide range of external lawyers entrusted with litigation handling.
Ioannis is the legal counsel and corporate secretary of the board of directors of EKO ABEE. He played a leading role in the merger of EKO ABEE with HELLENIV FUELS. According to him, the deal was “a complex multitasked legal assignment which involved demanding project management of diversified stakeholders entrusted to meet on time with considerably detailed targets”.
During his first 20 years of practice, Ioannis worked in in-house roles for a variety of multinational companies. Before joining HELLENiQ, his first major role was as an internal lawyer at SAP for 20 years, where he worked on several important strategic projects across Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
Being at the centre of business and technology evolution, he was thrilled to work in Greece, Europe, and the Middle East for a fast-growing IT multinational, which transformed and shaped today’s business. He also provides legal and governance, risk and compliance services to the Constantinou Group of Companies, a global organisation dedicated to the construction and development of large multipurpose complexes and global commercial activities.
Ioannis’ practical experiences accrued over the years have equipped him with the skills, competencies and ability that make him a trusted legal counsel in Greece. In addition to his in-house legal role, he currently sits as the coordinator of the legal committee of the Hellenic Petroleum Marketing Companies Association.
