Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?   

We use Microsoft Teams extensively to have meetings, not only in case our team is scattered all over Greece at different airports, but also to allow for greater flexibility for all team members who would like to work remotely for various reasons (e.g., due to care of children etc.). Additionally, we use an ECM platform to follow all the legal deadlines for court hearings and other obligations that also sends automatic reminders to all lawyers involved. Teams and ECM platform are provided free of charge by Fraport Greece.  

What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in? 

During 2022 and 2023, Fraport Greece legal team won several multimillion arbitrations for matters related to the performance of the Concession Agreement and assisted Management to achieve a complete refinancing of its loans securing a viable and profitable financial model that has a reasonable buffer to care for future crises like the ones experienced the last three years.  

How important is choosing to work with external lawyers who align with your company’s values? Are you likely to reconsider what firms you work with based on this?    

There are many good law firms in Greece, but Fraport Greece work only law firms who share our corporate values of integrity, respect, collaboration, excellence, creativity and, last but not least, fun. Attitude is more important than competence, because above a certain level, competence is guaranteed, while correct attitude will foster cooperation, allow individual talents to emerge and will help competence to produce the required results.
