Panagiotis Alexandrakis is an Attorney-at-Law, a member of the Piraeus Bar Association, and qualified to plead before the Hellenic Supreme Court. He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Grenoble II (France), a master’s degree in business law from the University of Paris II (France), and a master’s degree in business studies for law practitioners from the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration (Athens).

Since March 2010, he has been the director of legal affairs and compliance at Heron Energy Group of Companies, which primarily engages in power generation, as well as the supply and trading of electricity and natural gas in Greece. Heron Energy is a wholly-owned subsidiary of GEK TERNA Group, one of the most prominent groups in Greece. GEK TERNA is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange and, with approximately 8,000 employees worldwide, holds a leading position in Greece in the fields of infrastructure, power generation, supply and trade, concessions, and waste management.

His main practice areas currently include energy, corporate, commercial, and civil law, mergers and acquisitions, contract law (including distribution agreements, swaps and derivatives – ISDA and power purchase agreements, among others), data protection, and compliance. He serves as secretary of the board of directors and the general meeting of the shareholders of Heron Energy Companies.

He has been a qualified lawyer in Greece since 1994 and in Cyprus since 2008. He has worked as an in-house lawyer for various Hellenic Groups of Companies since 1997.

From August 1997 to January 2005, he served as Counselor-at-Law and Legal Manager to the Top Management of Theocharakis Group, one of the most renowned family-owned groups in Greece. His main achievement was overseeing the entire legal framework for the implementation and operation of the Company’s 18 branches in Greece, whether fully owned by the Company or operated under special management agreements.

From June 2006 to February 2010, he worked as in-house Legal Counsel at G4S Group of Companies, an international group providing security services worldwide, primarily through the telemetry and telecommunications industry. His main responsibilities included drafting, negotiating, and finalising contracts (including exclusive distribution and cooperation agreements), mergers and acquisitions, company law, antitrust law, general commercial law, and labour law.

From October 2021 until March 2023, he was nominated by the Board of Directors of TERNA Energy as compliance officer at TERNA Energy Group. Since June 2022, he has been a certified compliance officer accredited by TUV Austria Hellas.

He considers the establishment and continuous improvement of the Heron legal affairs and compliance division as the most emblematic project of his career. This work is now recognised, both by his fellow lawyers and by executives in the competitive energy market.

He is fluent in Greek, French, and English, and has some knowledge of Italian.
