Spotlight on: My career
Thaleia is the chief legal officer in Alpha Bank. She has extended experience in both the private and the public sector. She has worked for approximately 15 years in law firms and private companies focusing mainly in commercial and banking law before serving as director of special policies at the PM Office and senior legal advisor to the Minister of Finance (2011-2013). She was the chief legal counsel of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF), from 2013 to 2018, and was actively involved in the recapitalisation of the Greek banking system during the financial crisis. She is a former member of the board of directors of the HR Asset Development Fund.
Thaleia has extended experience in managing multidisciplinary complex projects, negotiating with multiple stakeholders, and handling crisis situations. She is a qualified lawyer admitted to the Greek Supreme Court. She holds a law degree from the University of Athens, an LLM in Economic Law and a PhD in European Law from Panthéon-Assas University (Paris II). She has also completed international courses on compliance (ICA) and corporations’ sustainability (Said Business School). She is also a founding member of The Boardroom-Greece.
