Led by Lilian Kontou, who in her position as legal director for South East Europe oversees legal matters for the company in Greece, Bulgaria and Romania, the Air Liquide Hellas legal team based in Athens is a highly competent and well-regarded unit that consistently achieves results given its compact size. Recent years have seen the team working hard towards three objectives to achieve, as Kontou lists: ‘Being recognised as a strategic partner and point of reference for value added advise and consultation for both the management and teams; being an enabler, facilitator and key contributor to achieve the company’s business targets, including important re-organisation projects and successful resolution of disputes; and enhancing regulatory compliance culture in the organisation (anti-corruption, data protection) without being business-focused’.
