Vassilis Giannakopoulos is head of legal and member of the executive committee of NN Hellas, also reporting functionally to NN Group legal. The legal department consists of another five lawyers, namely insurance affairs manager A. Kavouropoulou, S. Korres, P. Kountouri, M. Dede and Z. Andriopoulos. The team is supported by two experienced legal assistants, S. Melidou and L. Kardara. The legal department gives day-to-day legal advice and support to the management and to company departments in all legal matters, including regulatory compliance matters arising from key legislation such as Solvency II, IDD, PRIIP’s and GDPR. The team also internally handles main course of business litigation, representing NN Hellas before the Greek courts of all grades and regulatory authorities. Furthermore, the legal department supports the sales channels (insurance agents, direct and bancassurance) and NN Hellenic Insurance Agency. In recent years, the legal department effectively supported the company through increasing regulatory and legislative requirements, the financial crisis and organisational changes, always upholding the NN corporate values: ‘Care, Clear, Commit’.
