Why are in-house lawyers well-placed to drive change in their organisations?  

In-house lawyers can promote innovative and positive changes due to their good positioning in the area in which they work and therefore influence the decision-making people in their charge. 

It can be challenging to measure a company’s track record in environmentally friendly behaviour. What, in your opinion, has mostly been missed in discussions about how green a company is?  

Normally the investments made in terms of sustainability are measured and can even be measured in the total CO2 emission that is emitted in its operations, but it is not measured if these are really as ecological as they seem. To cite an example, you can replace coloured plastic bags with biodegradable bags, but do those bags come from a clean process? 

Likewise, and no less important, the company is measured as being committed to protecting the environment, but the daily actions of each employee carried out by conviction and commitment to a better world for future generations are not measured.
