Iris Kwok is currently the Chief Compliance Officer, General Manager, and Head of the Legal and Compliance Department of Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPDB) Hong Kong Branch. She has over three decades of experience in the Hong Kong banking industry and has been deeply involved in the legal and compliance fields for over twenty years. Before joining SPDB, she served as the General Manager of the Legal and Compliance Department of several Chinese banks, including the Hong Kong branch of China Construction Bank and Agricultural Bank of China. She is admitted to practise in both Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. Under Iris’ leadership, the legal team of SPDB Hong Kong Branch has achieved significant results in recent years, establishing an excellent professional image and gaining high recognition in the industry, especially by providing professional and efficient legal support in major projects, such as ‘cross-border wealth management channel’, ‘interest rate benchmark reform’, ‘employee residential houses mortgage service’, ‘relocation of the new offices of SPDB’ and ‘severe weather trading in securities and derivatives markets ‘. In addition, Iris is the editor of several works, including ‘A Collection of Typical Cases of Financial Regulation in Hong Kong’ and ‘Basic Policies and Regulations for Personnel in Hong Kong Banking Industry’.

Iris has been leading the Legal and Compliance Department of SPDB Hong Kong Branch to uphold the essence of the industry while pursuing innovation, focusing on promoting legal technology, forming a first-class legal and compliance team, effectively supporting SPDB Hong Kong Branch to implement national strategies and digitisation, regionalisation, and internationalisation strategies, resolving risk events, and supporting the development of domestic and foreign businesses of SPDB Hong Kong Branch.
