CK Infrastructure Holdings (CKI) is an international infrastructure company with a global footprint in infrastructure investments. It has a diverse portfolio of investments which include energy, transportation, water, waste, waste-to-energy, household infrastructure and infrastructure related businesses. It has been listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange since 1996, and is worth a market capitalisation of around HK$150bn as of the end of June 2018. The legal team is led by Victor Sai Hong Luk, group general counsel, who has been with the company since July 1998. He has over 27 years of experience in the legal field and is a dual UK and Hong Kong qualified solicitor. The legal team works on all of the company’s investments and partnerships. One example, of many, is CKI’s holding of a 38.01% interest in Power Assets Holdings, a global investor in power and utility-related businesses specialising in electricity generation, transmission and distribution, renewable energy, waste-to-energy, energy pipelines and gas distribution. This shareholding includes, in Hong Kong, Power Assets’ 33.37% stake in Hong Kong Electric, the sole electricity supplier of Hong Kong and Lamma Island to approximately 569,000 customers.
