Founded in 1984, Bain Capital Private Equity is one of the world’s leading private investment firms. Amongst the firm’s staff in Asia is its talented legal team who impressed their colleagues as well as peers in the legal industry in last year’s edition of the GC Powerlist: Hong Kong Teams. This year, the team has once again stood out. Led by Melissa Obegi, Bain Capital’s Asia general counsel, the legal team has continued to support the firm by providing expert advice on a range of matters during the past year. For example, the legal team was involved in Bain Capital’s fourth Asia fund, “A-IV”, which successfully raised US$4bn in December 2018.
