Operating in six locations worldwide, BYTON is a Chinese all-electric vehicle automotive brand established in 2017 and incorporated in Hong Kong, co-founded by former BMW and Nissan Motor executives. The legal department of BYTON is headed by its first general counsel Matt Barter, who is based in Hong Kong and is responsible for advising company leadership and operation arms regarding all aspects of BYTON’s business. Under Barter’s leadership, the legal team’s principal mission is to be a business enabler while also protecting the company’s interests. The high-performance and lean legal department is trusted by the business to provide expert advice on a variety of matters, including M&A, joint ventures, equity and debt financing, and strategic partnerships.
