Following on from its recognition in the 2018 edition of the GC Powerlist: Hong Kong Teams, Fox’s superb in-house legal outfit continues to impress under the leadership of executive vice president and general counsel Francis C.F. Chang. The team is highly valued as part of the global operations of one of the world’s largest media companies, particularly due to its deal making and transactional dominance. Early in 2019, the team supervised a partnership agreement by one of its products, National Geographic, and digital camera designer OnePlus to promote the latter’s latest camera products through a photography contest the results of which are published in the magazine. The team has also worked on the investment in mm2 Entertainment’s four upcoming feature films, among other transactions and activities. Most significantly, the team in Hong Kong are commended for their work on domestic matters related to the global acquisition of 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company which became effective in March 2019.
