The legal team at Fresenius Medical Care (FMC) Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong, the company’s Asia Pacific headquarters continues to impress after its inclusion in last year’s list, providing an excellent example of in-house legal team management in a global healthcare corporation. FMC is the largest global provider of chronic kidney failure products and services, helping more than 320,000 patients with dialysis treatment across its 3,700 dialysis clinics using supplies from its 41 production sites around the world. The legal team has been supporting the US$2bn revenue business in the Asia Pacific region very successfully in recent years. It is noted for its ability in M&A transactions and other operational matters, combining skill in pointing out legal risk with acting as a business partner. In 2019 the team completed the acquisition of NxStage Medical, a US healthcare company.
