What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

Beijing Tong Ren Tang Chinese Medicine Company Limited (TRTCM), serves as the overseas development platform for Beijing Tong Ren Tang (TRT), TRTCM maintains a solid foundation in Hong Kong and aims to expand its reach to the global market, undertaking the mission of introducing traditional Chinese medicine culture to the world. TRTCM is a member of TRT Group, and under its leadership, TRTCM’s brand and legal compliance team, which is entirely trilingual, is a very diverse and professional legal unit. According to “the Belt and Road” development strategy proposed by the Chinese government, the team is responsible for advising and managing the legal, brand, compliance, internal control and risk management. In the past year, the team has established certain risk management workflow and response measures for significant risks, which the relevant functional departments and operation units performed daily monitoring of the identified risks that are of importance to the TRTCM Group.

We also provide anti-corruption training for directors and employees to remind and ensure compliance with the requirements of relevant laws and regulations and internal policies, hence creating an ethical work environment. The training covers anticorruption and anti-bribery laws and regulations, and case studies of past violations in which proper ways to handle potential and actual violations were discussed in particular.

The team will continue demonstrating expert legal knowledge and enhancing compliance awareness while assisting the TRTCM Group in initiating a new phase from a global participant to a leader in Chinese medicine.
