At the core of our legal team’s spirit is a commitment to continuous learning and an unwavering determination to remain abreast of the constantly evolving legal landscape without setting any limits on what we can achieve. The legal team does not confine themselves to their past experiences. It continuously adapts to the company’s changing needs by acquiring new legal knowledge, remaining curious about recent market trends and embracing a can-do attitude.
Our legal team comprises members with private practice experiences before joining the group, which specialises in capital market deals and civil litigations. After joining TFI’s in-house legal team, the scope of their practice has drastically expanded to include general corporate matters, private and public bond issuance, fund establishment, asset management, structured products, OTC trading, syndicated loans and contentious legal work. Our company strives to provide customised services to our clients, and our legal team is well-versed in structuring and executing complex and cutting-edge transactions that usually involves multiple parties, cross-border features and various financial instruments. We must continuously enhance our legal knowledge and break through the comfort zone of our previous experience to better support our company’s development.
As we welcome new ideas, we also actively initiate or engage in internal discussions within our business teams, fostering our in-depth understanding of the market and discovering new ideas for solving any difficulties that may arise. Cultivating a culture of constant idea-sharing and open exchanges of concerns has tremendously improved our ability to tackle challenges in a cohesive and well-balanced manner.
What steps do you take to ensure effective communication and collaboration with external counsel and other stakeholders during the dispute resolution process?
The legal team maintains close communication and contact with the business team, management and external legal advisors. When a dispute arises, the business team and management will internally discuss with the legal team to analyse the nature and determine the company’s strategy in handling the dispute before seeking advice from appropriate external lawyers. Throughout resolving disputes, the legal team plays a vital role in overseeing the execution of the strategy, seeking legal opinions from external lawyers and providing comprehensive support. As a result, the team is fully involved and committed to achieving the most effective resolution options.
During the entire dispute resolution process, the legal team has played a frontline role in leading the development of events. Our members have proactively initiated dialogues with all parties and organised multi-party meetings to ensure adequate information communication and efficient execution of dispute resolution strategies and plans.
