2017 has brought significant change to Belén Quintas Fernández’s career, who joined the multinational technology and consulting business Indra Sistemas immediately following its acquisition of her former employer Tecnocom. After immense contributions to the successful closure of the deal, Quintas became an important member of the newly formed team at Indra, assuming the position of a legal director responsible for financial services, telecommunication and media markets, in which she reports directly to the IT legal director and managing a team of three senior lawyers.

‘The legal services we render mainly consist in the drafting, negotiation and reviewing of contractual relationships of the company with its customers,’ she explains. Quintas also played a significant part in the subsequent integration and homogenization of business processes within the new team, contributing immensely to developing an environment of sharing common experiences, templates and frameworks. Prior to joining Indra, Quintas spent nearly eight years as a legal advice manager at Tecnocom, where she formed the legal department, designing all legal procedures, guidelines, general terms and conditions. ‘This was a real challenge for me’ she recalls. ‘It gave me the opportunity to apply all previously learned knowledge and to develop my skills further’. At the start of her career, Quintas spent ten years working within PwC’s tax and legal services team in Spain.
