Airbus is the leader in Spain’s aerospace and defence sector, with its annual sales of approximately €5bn accounting for 64% of the total revenue in the industry within the country. The company operates several major production facilities in Spain, the largest one being a shared site in Getafe, where nearly 6,000 employees work on military and civil aircraft. Working in close contact with the senior management structure of Airbus Spain, the legal department of the company has been described as a leading contributor to major growth initiatives, including large scale restructurings and corporate transactions. Mirroring the company values of accountability and excellence, the team has prioritised achieving a better engagement with the business, in order to support the company’s strategic and operational goals. Indeed, the team is involved in virtually everything that the company does, from providing support in contract drafting, negotiation, termination, claim management and transactional agreements to evaluating potential operational risks and providing general legal advice to all Airbus Group structures. The team’s capabilities in corporate law and negotiation, in particular, have been praised nominators.
