The EFACEC Group
Portuguese company EFACEC is active in the fields of power production, energy and transportation systems and electric mobility devices. Though the company has a large global footprint and employs thousands of staff in dozens of countries across its seven regional networks in Latin America, Africa (Angola and Mozambique), USA, Central Europe, Iberia, India and Maghreb, its internal legal work is handled by a small team of seven lawyers. Overseeing this efficient legal function is Adeodato Pinto, who serves as general counsel. Other key people of the team include Manuela Leal, Sara Barbot, Maria João Rodrigues and Sonia Marques. The EFACEC legal team is highlighted for its ability to handle a large part of the company’s varied and geographically diverse legal work internally while contributing to wider strategic matters. The recently appointed Pinto says of his team: ‘The characteristic that I believe best describes my team is the ability to efficiently handle diverse legal work both in the terms of the geographies covered and the fields of expertise. They are capable of negotiating a hugely significant turnkey electrical project for a damn in Angola in one week, the supply of a large order of electrical car chargers for the US market the next week and a supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) development contract for an Indian utility provider the week after, all while paying attention to the tax, labor and corporate issues of the almost 70 international branches we have. I myself was deeply amazed by these qualities when arrived to the company.’
