The legal team are tasked with assisting on the range of services offered by the insurance and reinsurance company, working on issues involving warranty programmes, credit protection, PPI, GAP and other coverage for vehicle speciality risks. Legal director for international business, Juan Manuel Vales Cortés leads the legal team in staying ahead of any business changes and being truly aligned to the values of the company. The legal team has served as a true partner of the business, fundamentally assisting in the company’s growth though acquiring companies around the world, whilst simultaneously helping in the repositioning of MAPFRE Asistencia in the international market. Amongst these is the acquisition of InsureandGo in 2010 in the UK and Century Automotive in the US in 2012.
