Avneesh Chopra is the head of legal and company secretary at Valvoline Cummins. With over 25 years’ experience as an in-house counsel and company secretary, he has worked across various industries including public listed companies in India.

His area of expertise includes contracts, litigation, corporate law, competition law, environmental law, intellectual property law, industrial and employment laws, privacy and information technology law, private equity, risk management, oversight regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions and real estate.

Avneesh holds a Bachelor of Laws from Delhi University (1999) as well as a Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (1999).  In addition, he is a Fellow member of the Centre for American and International Law, USA (2014).

Avneesh worked and closed many complex and high -value contracts and agreements, handled critical litigations including quashing of frivolous criminal complaints against board members, merged publicly listed companies and re-listed the merger entity in Indian stock exchanges, carried out due diligence and acquisitions, institutionalised compliance management and strengthened compliance, ethics practices and culture in organisations.
