Can you tell us a little about your significant accomplishments over the last few years, as a team or by yourself?

I have had a successful track record of leading winning teams. My team and I have worked on one of the top ten largest global M&A deals of all time, as well as leading the APAC legal workstream for the separation and merger of one of the company’s largest businesses. I have also been actively engaged in the process of inclusion of biotech and agriculture related IP issues in National IPR policy, through policy advocacy and consultation papers. I have also been instrumental in designing and implementing the anti-counterfeiting, CSR as well as prevention of sexual harassment at workplace policies for organisations.

Have any recent political, economic, or regulatory changes impacted your work? How are you dealing with this?

There have been multiple changes in the past year that have had a significant impact on the work we do. Some of these changes have been in the areas of labour and employment, information technology, legal metrology, environmental, corporate as well as ESG. We have been agile in making the changes to our policies and infrastructure to ensure we can keep pace with all of the legal and regulatory changes that are taking place. We have also been focussed on internal training and sensitisation for change management in our internal stakeholders, with regard to the new regulations. The political and economic conditions have had a lot of impact on supply chains across the world and our organisation is no different. Our teams are working and responding to the situation by finding innovative solutions and business models.

How has the increasing consciousness of climate change and sustainability affected your company and the team’s priorities?

Being carbon neutral is a major priority for us and we have launched a global, company-wide initiative known as Destination Zero. We plan to become carbon neutral by the year 2050. There is also enhanced focus on reducing our carbon footprint, focusing on our decarbonisation business verticals, and working with partners and governments to launch modern technologies and products which can help the world reduce the impact of climate change. From the tactical to the strategic, the theme of Destination Zero is at the heart of all our strategies across businesses and functions.
