I am a corporate and commercial legal professional with over 25 years of experience in mergers, acquisitions, cross border investments and private equity & venture capital transactions.  I presently work with Accel India, a Silicon Valley based venture fund, as general counsel -India. I lead Accel’s legal and compliance team in India, which comprises of six members, in their advisory work across investments, divestments and portfolio management. With more than 25 years of experience as corporate counsel, I have handled numerous private equity and venture capital transactions and several domestic and international legal and regulatory assignments. In over 11 years of corporate in-house experience at Accel, I have worked with the founders and CEOs of some of India’s largest and successful companies and gained exposure to high value private equity/venture capital deals, shareholders agreements, high stakes litigations, M&A transactions and comprehensive legal due diligences. Key features of my tenure at Accel are building a very experienced legal team to deliver high quality services for venture capital transactions of Accel apart from providing other portfolio management support to more than 250 Accel portfolio companies in India, The US and Singapore. Prior to joining Accel, I worked with ICICI Venture Funds for eight years as vice president and worked at Dr. Kainth & Associates, a corporate law firm for six years.
