Mumbai-based pharmaceutical company Lupin puts compliance at the heart of its business activities, and its 13-person legal team has a hugely important role to play in this mission-critical endeavour. The team’s most senior lawyer, vice president – legal Vivek Mittal, provides further details about its highly-developed compliance framework: ‘Lupin conducts all aspects of its business activities with integrity, honesty and in compliance with the applicable anti-corruption laws. In relation to this, Lupin has adopted a business ethics and compliance program, the purpose of which is to establish policies prohibiting illicit payments of any kind to anyone, and to establish adequate, risk-based policies and procedures to prevent bribery and corruption in connection with Lupin’s business operations’.
