NTPC Limited
The largest power utility in India, NTPC Limited (formerly known as National Thermal Power Corporation Limited) has a vast operation that currently has 51,708MW of installed capacity and ambitious growth plans in the future that include becoming the world’s leading power company. As such, the legal support for this endeavour is understandably complex and multi-faceted, and relies on the counsel of an experienced and talented in-house legal department. The most senior legal officer in the company is A.K. Rastogi, executive director (law) and company secretary, who brings with him a raft of plaudits from the business and legal industry press for his attainment in the field. Subbiah Dharmalingam, deputy general manager – legal, is another example of the immense experience available to the legal team of NTPC having been involved in legal work for almost three decades, as is manager- law Pawan Kumar who has spent over ten years with NTPC Limited.
