For the last five years Orla Murphy has served as the regional general counsel for Synopsys, a provider of electronic design automation with a number of uses including smart technology connected devices and internet of things, and it is the world’s 15th largest software company. In this capacity Murphy advises on software development and consumer-facing agreements using her outstanding technical understanding to approach all matters. According to a nominator, ‘throughout her career Murphy is credited with demonstrating strong skills in corporate law and a deep knowledge of her clients’ businesses’. Before her current role, she served as corporate counsel M&A at Thermo Fisher Scientific, a world leader in serving science. Prior to that she worked in private practice for Dundas & Wilson as a senior associate from September 2006 until December 2012. A recognised leader in the industry and highly regarded, Murphy is an exceptional in-house counsel.
