What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

We have completed several international supply and distribution agreements with well-known cloud service providers and systems integrators related to Klas’ cutting-edge compute and connectivity products which support enterprise applications in remote locations. Klas continues to grow its IP portfolio, while also expanding its regulatory compliance to cover the markets and jurisdictions it expands into.

Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?

I spend 15 minutes each week with individual team members with no agenda. It allows any underlying issues to be raised organically and also provides the respect required for a team to thrive.

As a general counsel, how do you anticipate and prepare for potential legal and regulatory challenges that may arise, particularly in light of emerging technologies and evolving business landscapes?

I don’t remove myself from the detailed subject matter of the day-to-day functions of the legal department. A lot of emerging potential legal and regulatory challenges are flagged in advance in queries raised in minor contractual or informal interactions with industry and government.
