The legal and regulatory department at DAA, which was formerly known as the Dublin Airport Authority, is led by Patricia O’Shea in her role as group head of legal and secretarial. Taking a central role in strategic business planning, the team is crucial to the company in their ownership and operation of both Dublin Airport and Cork Airport, the former being a major hub for US, European and international traffic. The function is made up of a diverse team that provides excellent legal advice on general commercial and corporate matters alongside any necessary regulatory issues for Ireland’s two largest airports, which handled a combination of nearly 30 million passengers in 2015. Encompassing all legal and company secretarial functions at DAA, the team has also supported DAA in significant litigation matters. Significant legal work will be needed to support the Authority during its ambitious €320m Dublin Airport runway project, after DAA announced the launch of the project’s tender process in early 2016.
