National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA)
The National Treasury Management Agency’s legal team is led by chief legal officer Andrew O’Flanagan, responsible for several functions across the group spanning legal, compliance, human resources, secretariat, internal audit and corporate communications. The National Treasury Management Agency oversees the national debt of the Irish state via managing assets and liabilities on behalf of the Irish government. The Agency has seen its responsibilities greatly increase since its introduction in 1990, and took an important role in the aftermath of Ireland’s financial crisis that damaged several aspects of the government’s financial capabilities. The legal support required to match this ever increasing remit is a credit to the organisation and delegation amongst the team itself.
