In August 2015 the merger of National Roads Authority (NRA) and Railway Procurement Agency (RPA) created Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). TII is a state-operated agency responsible for the Irish road and public transport infrastructure. Edel McCormack is head of governance and legal for the combined entity, leading a legal team that covers a diverse infrastructure network across Ireland. The integration of the NRA and RPA had the potential to be a daunting operation, but the legal team was able to combine efficiently and help the rest of the operations integrate into a cohesive entity. TII now oversees a vast network of roads as well as a collection of current and future light railway (Luas) and metro routes.
