The Irish-based company employs 87,000 people across 31 countries worldwide and had a market turnover of around €27bn in 2017. Headquartered in Dublin, the legal team advise on all regulatory, contract, commercial and logistical issues that ensure the company’s smooth operation. In August 2018, the company announced the completion of part one of its €350m shares buyback program on the London Stock Exchange, a significant financial result for the company – the legal matters of which were contributed to by its expert in-house legal team. Additionally, the legal department is involved in major transactions such as the company’s announcement in June 2018, that US financial regulators approved and the company’s acquisition of Ash Grove Cement for US$3.5bn.
