Global pharmaceutical technology company ICON specialises in drug development solutions and services, biotechnology and medical devices and is headquartered in Dublin. Led by chief administrative officer, executive vice president and company secretary Diarmaid Cunningham, the ICON’s legal function ensures the company’s legal, administrative and compliance matters are handled efficiently. To this end, the legal team has been involved in a number of ICON’s collaborations and partnerships that improve the practices of the company as well as increase its technical ability. For example, ICON announced a partnership in June 2018 with Practice Fusion, to use patient data in a new way to support health research by applying its new software. Additionally, members of the team worked on the deal that will bring about the implementation of a new electronic endpoint adjudication system that manages workflow and data quality. The software – called “Judi” and supplied by AG Mednet – is designed to produce fewer queries, higher transparency and quality.
