Launched in October 2015, SKY Leasing has experienced tremendous growth, rising to a prominent position in both the Irish and US markets. Headquartered in Dublin, SKY strengthened its international development through a network of local representatives and offices in San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Miami, and currently maintains a strong relationships with over 100 airline clients in every major developing commercial aviation market around the globe. To support such an expansive growth the company recently developed a highly competent in-house legal team, which has already made a positive impression on sources for innovation. The team’s general counsel Catherine Kearns, who joined the company in February 2017, is a lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in international contract law with over 15 years of experience in aircraft leasing. Having joined the company following a 12-year tenure as head of legal at ORIX Aviation, Kearns utilises her depth of expertise in contract negotiation and legal advice to aircraft acquisitions, asset management, structured finance and operating leasing to support the full scope of SKY’s global activities. In 2018 the team also hired Kyle Emond, a trilingual corporate lawyers with years of combined aircraft leasing, legal and business development experience in fast-paced work environments.
