Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense? 

To improve the team’s performance and simultaneously achieve the best work-life balance, we grant flexible working hours to our team and evaluate their performance on the basis of their results and not their hours.
 

What measures has your company taken to embed sustainability practices into its core business operations, and how does the role of the general counsel contribute to driving and ensuring sustainable practices within the company? 

We introduced an ESG programme across the entire business group, including the holding and operating companies, aimed at obtaining a Sustainalytics rating. This meant introducing certain KPIs into the ordinary business activities to measure the environmental impact of our business.
 

How would you assess the impact of new technologies on the legal landscape in Italy, and what measures would you propose to leverage these technologies while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations? 

The use of new technology in the legal department is only positive if it speeds up legal processes and increases efficiency giving us the opportunity to be more productive.
 

What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, you are passionate about, and why? 

I am passionate about the study of neuroscience, in particular, understanding the mechanisms of the human brain.
