Maria is head of legal and compliance of the Southern Europe Cluster at JLL, participates in the leadership team, the Sustainability Committee, the D&I Committee and the Privacy Champions Group and the EMEA risk team. 

Among the projects she has been involved in over the last 12 months there is the reorganisation of the legal department in Italy and then in Southern Europe through the group-wide introduction of new innovative systems for the management of legal and compliance activities, and the completion of a redevelopment project of a 5-star hotel in Rome. 

Both in-house and in private practice, Maria has gained significant experience in corporate and commercial law, M&A, compliance and risk management, 231 issues, general affairs, internal audit and corporate governance in various regulated sectors, such as telecommunications, energy, environmental and mechanical engineering, agro-industrial, tobacco, real estate and construction, following transactions in Italy and abroad. 

Formerly a partner in FGALEX Sta, Mariniello was general counsel at Princes Industrie Alimentari, after having worked for a long time with the Maccaferri group, for which she was head of legal and corporate affairs at Manifatture Sigaro Toscano and senior manager at SECI, also holding positions as member of supervisory board 231 and independent director. Before that, she worked at Telecom Italia, in the International legal affairs department, and at Baker McKenzie. 

Passionate about start-ups and fintech, she is currently a director in Alchimia and Paydo, and is involved in D&I-related initiatives. Maria is a member of InTheBoardRoom of Valore D —an association that promotes gender balance and an inclusive culture for the growth of companies and the country, as well as an advisor to PWN Rome and the Meritocracy Forum.
