Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?   

We decided to share all major information concerning our activities, such as files, litigations, contracts presentations and training, among others, not only in periodical meetings but also via a dedicated tool that we would update and comment regularly, to allow the whole team to monitor the status of each file. 

This way of working helped us significantly in avoiding overlapping work, creating better synergies and in being faster and more efficient in providing an overview when somebody asks for an update on one or several files. It came at zero cost, because we built the tool by ourselves.   

  
Can you foresee any key developments to the way general counsel work over the next five years?  

Artificial intelligence can play a facilitating role for routine tasks. Once the major biases will be removed, legal operations will be enhanced; general counsel will increasingly become key business players and have the opportunity to set the pace in key organisational aspects, such as certification on gender equality. 

How do you stay updated on the evolving regulatory landscape in Italy and ensure compliance with domestic laws, EU regulations, and industry-specific regulations? 

 I have several sources of information and a network of law firms and associations, national and international, that help me in keeping track of the evolution of Italy’s regulatory landscape. 

What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, you are passionate about, and why? 

I am passionate about complex problem-solving and business development because I have the opportunity to give my best and make contributions.
