How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?  

During instability or crises my approach is to understand, and as soon as the situation is clearer, the main goal is to establish the appropriate team to handle the matter. Therefore, in Repower we all try to be not only cutting edge, but to be keenly aware of the law, jurisprudence and doctrine. Sometimes my team originates business opportunities. Nevertheless, there may be situations as general counsel I have to say ‘no’, but I do present other opportunities which are viable.  

How do you measure the impact of ESG initiatives on the company’s overall performance and reputation? 

Even though we are not obliged by Italian law, we have implemented all ESG principles, and we have achieved a good rating considering our position in the energy sector.   

What do you see as the major legal challenges for businesses in Italy over the next five years, and how are you preparing to address them?  

My legal knowledge management system is quite sophisticated and simple at the same time. Based on the lessons of one of my professional mentors, there is a powerful tool on Sharepoint that allows all my collaborators and business partners to work together and in a super-efficient way. We are now implementing this tool in the hopes that it will further improve efficiency in a big way.
