How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?  

In my opinion, the legal department is really a key business partner and must be first and foremost supporting the growth of the company, whilst keeping a certain degree of independence by supervising and granting that all the transactions are performed in full respect of the law and in ethical manner. 

How do you measure the impact of ESG initiatives on the company’s overall performance and reputation?

How have you integrated technology into your legal processes, and what impact has this had on efficiency and compliance?   

While we are working to create a tool to embrace in principle the entire contract management life, we implemented a SharePoint (SP) Rebuild and Training Initiative to enhance efficiencies; provide full update and refresh for up-to-date information capture; empower SP owners through individualised territory training; apply global and local information permission and restriction controls; provide user-friendly navigation and resource access to all Atos increasing insight and use of processes, protocols, and policies. 

What role does the legal department play in promoting and ensuring corporate social responsibility in your organisation?  

The legal and contract management department is fully equipped and focused in supporting the CSR function in the above-described mission, starting from the code of ethics, data privacy and the accessibility regulation. 

What do you see as the major legal challenges for businesses in Italy over the next five years, and how are you preparing to address them?  

For sure Artificial Intelligence is the key topic which will affect the way in which every company will work in the next future, and that will have a heavy influence also from a legal standpoint. Like every tool, it should be used to increase operational efficiency, being conscious at the same time of the key principles established by the EU and of the need that it becomes a tool at full service of human beings and not vice versa.
