How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?   

During periods of instability or crises, legal aspects become particularly crucial. Analysing and identifying the key risks associated with such situations are essential for an effective response. This must be handled by a dedicated team that includes both legal and business functions working together. 

One of the main areas I��ve been involved in recently has been the international expansion of TeamSystem. This expansion has largely been driven by M&A transactions in foreign countries, which, from a legal perspective, are both exciting and challenging. 

Additionally, there are other significant aspects related to international expansion, such as the analysis of foreign legal frameworks, the integration and organisation of cross-country legal teams (considering both organisational and cultural differences), and addressing new geopolitical issues that could potentially impact the transaction or the business. 

What do you see as the major legal challenges for businesses in Italy over the next five years, and how are you preparing to address them?  

TeamSystem is a data-driven company and a leading player in the digitalisation of EU professionals, micro businesses, and SMEs. Issues related to IP, AI, data protection, and cybersecurity represent significant legal challenges both now and in the future. 

One of our primary challenges will be to leverage our data and the potential of AI while ensuring compliance with the constantly evolving EU legal framework in an ethical and responsible manner. A particular area of focus will be the protection of our intellectual property and the security of our IT systems as we utilise new AI technologies. 

We are preparing our organisation to understand the importance of these matters and the associated legal risks by promoting training activities and implementing procedures and policies designed to address these legal risks while enabling the business to harness new technologies.
