How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
Legal topics represent a crucial part of the overall approach of a regulated AIFM (i.e., ‘Alternative Investment Fund Manager’) such as Prelios SGR. The activities and objectives of the legal team align with the business strategy to ensure that legal risks are properly managed while strengthening the company’s resilience
What are the main cases or transactions that you have been involved in recently?
The set-up of “Redeus Fund”, invested by UniCredit and aimed at acquiring and developing the “Scalo Farini” area in Milan, which will be one of the most relevant developments in Europe.
How do you measure the impact of ESG initiatives on the company’s overall performance and reputation?
European SFDR regulations apply to Prelios SGR, as they do to all Italian AIFMs. In this context, Prelios SGR has adopted specific policies regarding ESG topics and has established a corporate committee dedicated to sustainable finance. Within this framework, PAIs (i.e., ‘Principal Adverse Impacts’) are calculated on the alternative investment funds managed by the company.
What do you see as the major legal challenges for businesses in Italy over the next five years, and how are you preparing to address them?
ESG criteria. We have a dedicated team which monitors the fast-changing applicable legislation to stay up to date.
