How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?   

Adaptability and flexibility are essential to navigate these periods of profound instability. Adjusting myself and my team to changing circumstances and environments is a constant effort and to do so I work actively on being open-minded, versatile, and receptive to new ideas and alternative solutions. 

What are the main cases or transactions that you have been involved in recently? 

We worked on important transactions involving tier 1 customers and needed long term contracts with suppliers. Comau is a leader in the space of automated solutions therefore we faced several IP issues and closed transactions with companies owning unique technologies. 

How have you integrated technology into your legal processes, and what impact has this had on efficiency and compliance? 

It is still a work in process but I realised that since there are processes within our legal work where automation (and I work in the automation industry!) delivers value and offers advantages to both the organisation as a whole and the legal professionals we adopted a software tool to automate the generation of legal documents using standard templates and gathering data from various sources to generate documents with ease. Currently, I would like to evaluate the adoption of an ad-hoc AI-powered tools to help in analysing complex contracts. 

What do you see as the major legal challenges for businesses in Italy over the next five years, and how are you preparing to address them? 

I believe that cyber risk will continue to be a major legal risk for all businesses due to the sensitive nature of the information we all hold, and I am afraid that the geopolitical instability will increase the risk of cyber-attacks. To be ready I steadily work on implementing a robust cybersecurity strategy that addresses potential risks and vulnerabilities, on conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential threats and on having a well-structured response plan in place in case of any incident.
