With over 500 employees and direct operations in 12 major Italian cities, UBS is the first specialised operator in private banking in terms of volume management. The Italian division has initiated a scheme geared towards their social responsibilities of social inclusion and helping constrict the economic gap. As part of its UBS Community Affairs scheme that was launched in 2007, the legal team has been behind supporting its several areas of intervention including materials collection, donations and partnerships with non-profit organisations of social value. The legal team is a key strategic partner to the bank, forming strategies and opinions to propel it to its current strong reputation in the market. Leading the team, general counsel for Italy and Iberia, Pietro Arosio, has been crucial in the status of the legal function during his time in his position. A highlight of his time with the bank is the manner in which he has encouraged the bank to perceive the department as an important strategic partner, dedicating its activities to allow closer cooperation and increased proactivity.
