Energy and utility company Axpo Italia has more than 100 years of experience in the production and supply of sustainable energy. Although headquartered in Switzerland, Axpo holds a leading position and product and service portfolio for their customers in over 30 European countries. Led by general counsel Stefano Brogelli the Italian legal function has directly been involved in a number of complex M&A and corporate commercial transactions. The legal team has recently worked on the acquisition of a business unit of BP Energy Europe in the wholesale of natural gas. The team has also worked on the closing of the most important long-term power purchase deal from renewable energy in the Italian market with PwC. Legal affairs manager, Guido Parodi is also a prominent part of the team, as he supervises the sales legal area, which includes credit collection, drafting of retail, energy efficiency, customer care and agency care legal activities. ‘Team cooperation first’, says Brogelli, is the department’s ethos. ‘Before taking any major decisions dealing with other corporate functions, the members of the team consult with each other in order to take a position that takes into account all the aspects of the legal functions work’.
