Marchiol Group, consists of five companies with 30 branches, more than 700 employees and €280m in a yearly turnover. It specialises in the distribution of electrical and automation equipment, intended for applications in the civil and industrial sectors. Founded in Treviso in 1951, the Group has achieved a market-leading position in the North East of Italy as well as branches in Slovenia and Hungary. The legal department is very young, having been established only in September 2017 and legal counsel Emanuele Maria Raccagni manages the team of two paralegals, who have collectively managed, under the supervision of the CEO, the start-up and development of the legal department. ‘The constitution of a legal office meets the need to face the challenges of Italian and European laws in a more professional way in order to avoid breach of contracts, fines and criminal liability’, says Raccagni. Day-to-day activities of the team includes giving legal advice, both ordinary and extraordinary, to the Group’s functions and branches. Although it is a newly created team, it has already been instrumental to negotiations of national and international contracts with the biggest player of the sector.
